Concert Plans 2019

A season of concerts or concerts for all seasons.

At relatively short notice I am planning a concert on Friday 17th May which happens to be my birthday. I thought it would be very nice to spend it with a lot of friends and some music.

So far I have booked the pianist who played at the Church Garden Party here at Bassetts last year. I have been able to help him get a place at the RAM next September. His name is Zoltan Galyas and he is bringing a violinist with whom he has cut some CDs.  I also want to get an organist to put our Walker organ through its paces. As many of you will know the PCC faces a very substantial cost of a major rebuild within the next few years and the concert will be in aid of the Organ Fund.

The concert will be at 7pm with refreshments after in the White Rock thanks to Frank. The tickets will be £15 each which more or less covers the costs and I would ask you to be as generous as possible by way of donation, gift aided if you can.

I have not yet finalised the programme or done a ticket application but if you are interested in applying for tickets please email me and I will send one to you. Email:-

Third Heather Clemence Memorial Concert

Plans are well advanced for a third concert at St Margaret’s Church on Saturday 21st September 2018.

Some of the same artists will be performing and some new ones, all of whom are or have been sponsored by our charity. The content will be similar to the previous concerts but different of course.

This year’s concert will also be in aid of St Margaret’s Organ Fund. So please put the date in your diaries if you would like to attend. Tickets will be £15 each with an invitation to add donations, which can be gift aided. Refreshments will be available in the White Rock again thanks to Frank.

A Christmas Concert

One of “my” students, Rob Tilson, who was the tenor last year, applied for funding to do something on the Edinburgh Fringe this year with 7 or 8 of his friends. In return for being his main sponsor he and his friends will do a “free” concert as a thank you. This was too good an opportunity to miss and they are coming on Saturday 14th December to do a Christmas themed concert. Obviously there will be more detail later but please put the date I your diary. This concert will be in aid of the Church and Scotts Project Trust equally.
